ADOPTED: UKULELE, PICCOLO & BONGO

All the kittens have been adopted into wonderful, loving families. Funny enough that each kitten has been adopted into families that already have a Siamese resident cat. Another similarity is that all three kittens have been re-named to food items!

BONGO = Fig
PICCOLO = Pickles
UKULELE = Spud

They all went from whimsical musical instruments to a nice selection of appetizers you'd serve with lunch!

ADOPTED! Ukulele - Aug. 10, 2019

I miss their sweet, little faces and all the floofyness bouncing around my house, but am very happy that they've all found amazing homes.  I'm looking forward to seeing how much their coloring will change as they grow into cats.

Mommy Shadow had to be transferred to another VOKRA foster home as she still needed to be spayed, and I wasn't able to get that done for her before I went away on holidays.

But, I did get an update from her new foster that the spay went well and she's recovering wonderfully!

You can see where they shaved her upper paws to put in the IVs. The get-up is a replacement for the cone that she would normally be wearing so that she doesn't lick her spay incision.

BATTLE OF THE SEXES

I've been fostering my current batch of kittens for two months now. They received their vaccinations today (which went ideally, according to the vaccinator), but I just found out that who I thought was a girl kitten is not a girl (Ukulele) and who I thought was a boy kitten is not a boy (Piccolo). The vaccinator examined the kittens from head to toe to ensure that the kittens looked healthy enough to vaccinate, but mentioned that the genders were wrong on the kittens.

When kittens first come into the care of VOKRA, they can be too young sometimes to determine (with absolute certainty) their gender. I never thought to check that their intake sheets were correct. I just assumed that they were.

So, now I have to re-train myself to refer to Ukulele as a boy and Piccolo as a girl.

Bongo, Piccolo & Ukulele

Ukulele and Piccolo have already been adopted by VOKRA volunteers. We just have Bongo to get adopted now. I'm sure he'll be adopted in no time flat as there is a wait list for these kittens.
